It all starts with the Basics.
Latin dance is supposed to be enjoyable. So we work hard to provide a fun, supportive learning environment. We teach at your pace - not ours, and we intentionally keep our classes small in size in order to give you the extra time and attention you need to master the material. This way, we are able to give you confidence in your technique, while providing you a strong foundation upon which to build your personal style.
Ritmo Latino Dance Company offers fun Latin dance classes for students of all skill levels. No partner or experience is required.

Group Lessons
 A Group Lesson is perhaps the most entertaining way to learn to dance Salsa, and is a great way to make new friends. Our class syllabus and studio-like atmosphere create a fun, low pressure environment in which to learn, enabling you to get the most out of your experience.
Each week, as you master various Salsa combinations and techniques, you'll have the opportunity to meet and dance with new people. This will enable you to practice and refine your moves, and eventually create your own salsa style.
Private Lessons
For those who wish to learn at a faster pace, Ritmo Latino Dance Company also offers private lessons. Private lessons give Beginning and Intermediate dancers an opportunity to master their salsa skills in a shorter period of time.
Whether you are brand new to Salsa or eager to refine your personal styling techinque, we will monitor your progress until you have achieved your desired goal.
Private lessons are held in a reserved area, and on special arrangement can also be held in your home. In this more intimate setting, you are ensured of receiving the proper amount of personal attention you require on a day and time most convenient to you.

Ritmo Latino Dance Company regularly conducts courses in other Latin dance styles and provides workshops to help your improve specific areas of your dancing. Here are a few of the courses we offer:
Salsa
Beginning & Intermediate
Salsa is one of the most popular of the Latin dances and one of the easiest to learn. At Ritmo Latino Dance Company we can set you on a path to the discovering the joy and excitement of this amazing dance. Through our experienced instruction you will learn a fun array of step patterns and techniques that will have you dancing the very first day.
Our Beginner class covers basic rhythm, step patterns, body movements and timing. You will also learn several turn variations and proper Salsa etiquette. Our Intermediate program includes more complex turns and step patterns, fluidity drills, and personal and partnering techique.
Guaguanco
Guaguanco is an up-tempo couples dance with Afro Cuban origins. Performed to either a 2/4 or 4/4 tempo, this upbeat dance is viewed as a highly flirtatious and sexual game between the male and female dancer. In fact, Guaguanco is usually compared to a courting ritual between a rooster and a hen, with the male strutting about puffing his feathers while the female feigns disinterest.
In this workshop, you will learn how to isolate key areas of your body, and how to interact with your partner to create a flowing, hypnotic effect on the dance floor.
Cha-Cha-Cha
With its distinctive carefree beat, the Cha-Cha-Cha is widely regarded as the ultimate party dance. The dance consists of three quick steps (the chasse or triple step) and two slower steps on the one beat and two beat.
In this workshop you will learn timing, cross body leads, syncopated turns, and a number of step patterns that you will be able to incorporate into your social dancing almost immediately.
Partnering Technique
Have you ever noticed how some dancers seem to be able to read each other's mind while on the dance floor? It's not that they are clairvoyant - it's simply that they have excellent partnering technique.
In this workshop, you will learn the tips to becoming a stronger lead and follow. Through a series of specially designed drills and exercises, you will learn how to fine tune your partnering technique and establish a stronger, more intuitive connection with your partner.
Turns & Spins
One of the qualities that make Salsa so much fun to dance and to watch, is the various turns and spins that are part of the dance. Therefore, it is important that Follows learn to develop their turns and spinning technique.
In this workshop, Follows will learn basic Salsa turns such as right and left turns, pivots, traveling turns and spins. We start by teaching posture, arm position, spotting and other techniques, and practice spinning by ¼, ½ ¾ full spins and double spins. These techniques will be executed on a daily basis throughout the course.
Lifts & Tricks
For more advanced dancers and seasoned performers, Ritmo Latino Dance Company can show you the secrets to wowing your audience every time out.
In this workshop, you will learn how to safely and correctly execute a dazzling array of lifts, poses and other tricks that will take your Salsa performances to the highest level.
Styling
 Styling is a basic element of Salsa dancing. In this course, you will be taught to incorporate shines, leg work body isolations, body rolls and hand styling into your dancing, as well how to recognize the appropriate time during a song in which to executre them.
This is a must-have course for any dancer eager to define his or her own unique Salsa style.
